A porcelain Kit-Kat fuse is a type of rewirable fuse unit commonly used for protecting electrical circuits in low- and medium-voltage applications, typically up to 415 V AC. It consists of two main parts — a porcelain base and a fuse carrier. The base is made from high-grade electrical porcelain, which provides excellent insulation, mechanical strength, and heat resistance. The carrier, which fits into the base, holds the fuse element (usually a replaceable wire) and has brass or copper contacts for good electrical conductivity. When excessive current flows through the circuit due to overload or short-circuit conditions, the fuse element melts and interrupts the circuit, thereby preventing damage to connected equipment.
